Rich Embury’s Power Hour is an hour long, weekly, live radio show and podcast.

Focused on Classic Rock and Classic Metal music history and music from bands of the ’70s, ’80s & ’90s only!

It is syndicated on multiple radio stations worldwide!

Rich has a long history in radio. Beginning in the 1980s with his high school show on MRCR (Mount Royal

Collegiate Radio), he broke the mold and long restrictions against playing heavy metal on the air. Fast forward to the mid-1990s with the weekly CFCR 90.5FM show in Saskatoon, focusing on local music. He created his own internet radio station (originally Radio306.com (Nominated for a Prairie Music award) to Pure Rock Radio), at a time when it was much more difficult and super rare to have an internet station, many years before terrestrial AM/FM and satellite stations put their radio feeds online. Long before iPhones and smartphones.

Rich was a board member of S.O.M.A. (Saskatchewan Original Music Assoc.) and broadcast coordinator, which is where his love for supporting independent, local, and struggling bands took hold. The roots of Pure Rock Radio celebrate indie bands, mixed with better-known, major-label artists. His current radio show Rich Embury’s R3TROGRAD3 continues the tradition.
