Amal Abu Khatleh, a nurse at a Gaza hospital that admitted an unidentified infant last November, took the baby in and gave her the name Malak, meaning angel. Abu Khatleh holds Malak on her first birthday in October, in Deir al-Balah, Gaza Strip.

The newborn, found by rescuers after an Israeli attack, was rushed to a hospital. Nurse Amal Abu Khatleh gave her the name Malak, meaning angel. She is raising the baby until relatives can be found.
